Center Directory
A senior service center is a community focal
point where older persons can meet together, access a variety of
services and participate in activities that will enhance
dignity, support independence and encourage involvement in the
community. In addition senior service centers offer the
following services:
Information and Assistance Services:
Senior Centers are an integral part of a much larger caring
human service system. The center provides access to information,
advocacy and co-ordination with other service providers within
the network. Center staff is knowledgeable and willing to
assist.
Nutritious Meals:
Each center offers hot, nutritional balanced meals five days a week for those age 60 and over.
Home Delivered Meals:
Meals can be delivered to homebound individuals who are unable
to prepare regular meals because of illness, injury or
disability. Not all sites provide home delivered meals.
Activities:
A wide variety of planned events are offered. Many centers have health education activities including blood pressure screening, foot clinics, exercise and strength training classes.
* Traditional activities including crafts, holiday parties, trips, pool playing and tournaments, dances, bingo and card parties are held. Most centers offer quilting and a wide variety of educational programs.
